PSW
The Post Study Work (PSW) Visa in Ireland is called the Third Level Graduate Programme. It entitles international students to stay in the country to work after graduation. Bachelor’s graduates are entitled to 12 months, Master’s graduates are entitled to 24 months (Which can then be renewed).
Work Permit
It would then be possible to apply for a work permit in Ireland. There are various types of work permit. The standard one is called the General Employment Permit. This is issued first for 2 years and then may be renewed for a further 3 years (total 5 years). After you have been working for one year you may be able to bring your family to live in Ireland.
Some types of employment are ineligible for this visa and there are some criteria that must be met (mostly these are the responsibility of the employer). The most important information is that you must be earning a salary of at least of €30,000 (there are some exceptions where the amount is lower) and your employer must be prepared to sponsor you
Long Term Residency
When you have been legally living and working in Ireland for 5 years on a work permit, you can apply for long-term residence. A spouse and/or dependant(s) may also apply for Long Term Residency.
